ar shelf labels

create a digital blueprint or a visual map of your real-world storage. instead of searching through a list of names, this feature lets you see exactly where things are sitting on your shelf or desk.

how it works

step 01
scout your shelf

point your camera at the shelf or desk you want to map. the app will start in scouting mode.

step 02
capture the blueprint

tap the red aperture icon. idX will freeze the view and create a static blueprint of your shelf. tagging is only possible once the view is captured to ensure total stability.

step 03
choose & place tags

select an item from the bottom tray and tap directly on its physical location in the photo to place a digital label.

step 04
adjust and scale

you can drag the label around, use two fingers to rotate it to match your perspective, or pinch it to make it smaller or larger.

step 05
save map

tap the floppy disk icon to save. idX will remember this layout for your next session.

why use this?

imagine you have a large pantry or a tool shed with 50 different boxes. instead of opening every box, you can just open this screen, and it will show you a "map" of your shelves with labels floating over exactly what is inside each box.

pro tip

long-press any label on the screen to delete it if you move the item to a new location.
