camera and see exactly where your tagged items are located.
requirements
- pro subscription
- camera permission
- location permission
- location services enabled on device
- items must have gps tags
how it works
step 01
tag items with location
before using ar finder, you need to tag items with their gps location:
- open any item in your inventory
- tap edit mode
- scroll to lifecycle & origin section
- tap "tag current location"
- allow location access when prompted
step 02
open ar finder
from the home screen, tap the ar location finder card to launch the ar
camera.
step 03
grant permissions
if this is your first time using ar finder, you will be prompted to
grant camera and location permissions. both are required for the
feature to work.
step 04
point and find
hold your device up and slowly pan the camera around you. items within
1000 meters will appear as floating markers showing:
- item name
- distance in meters
- direction indicator
step 05
navigate to item
walk in the direction of the marker. the distance will update in
real-time as you move closer to your item.
understanding the ar view
-
field of view: the ar camera has a 60-degree
horizontal field of view. markers only appear when items are within
this cone.
-
distance limit: only items within 1000 meters are
shown to avoid cluttering the view.
-
compass heading: the ar view uses your device compass
to determine which direction you are facing.
-
gps accuracy: marker positions are based on gps
coordinates. accuracy depends on your device and environment.
troubleshooting
no markers appearing
- ensure items have gps tags (see step 01)
- check that items are within 1000 meters
- verify location services are enabled
- try moving to an area with better gps signal
inaccurate positions
- gps accuracy varies by device and environment
- indoor locations may have poor gps signal
- wait a few seconds for gps to stabilize
- calibrate your device compass in settings
camera not working
- check camera permission in device settings
- restart the app
- ensure no other app is using the camera
tips for best results
-
tag items immediately when you store them for most accurate location
data.
-
use ar finder outdoors or near windows for better gps accuracy.
-
pan slowly to give the compass time to update and show all nearby
items.
-
for items stored indoors, the marker will point you to the general
building location.
privacy
all location data is stored locally on your device. gps coordinates are
never uploaded to external servers.
